Dear Sir / Madam My name is Gideon Njini, and I have the honour to introduce Enterprise Development & Governance Facility (EDGF) for your kind financial support to partner, finance or sponsor one of EDGF’s projects. EDGF is a Civil Society Organisation promoting local economies to alleviate deprivation and poverty, and supporting communities in Mezam, Bui and Boyo divisions of the North West Region of Cameroon, EDGF’s office is located at the regional North West capital city of Bamenda. From 2016 to date, violence started in the two English speaking regions of Cameroon that are marginalised by the 80% French speaking central government, and has resulted in displacing 765,000 persons, now living in the urban cities and other regions, with 60,000 others displaced as refugees in nine camps in the neighbouring Nigeria. Schools were closed with resulting in school dropouts of 800,000 children, age 3 to 18 years, and 4,000 dead: Re: https://www.crisisgroup.org/africa/central-africa/cameroon/250-cameroons-anglophone-crisis-crossroadsIn response to these challenges we appeal for financial support and sponsorship to carry out the following projects: (1) Training internally displaced women hawkers on small business, Savings and Loan Fund; (2) Training school drop-outs -10 to 25 years, on self-help, self-sufficiency job placement skills of: tailoring, carpentry, and hairdressing, dress making, bike and vehicle repairs, etc.; (3) Paying fee, school supplies for poor children to attend primary education, and adult education; (4) Farming systems transformation and agroforestry farming system application; (5) Construction of Community safe water projects and WASH education.
